SOUND CHANGE IN TAIPEI
音變台北*
Translated by Shou-Fang HU-MOORE 胡守芳
|
In the sky above Taipei
Noises race to explode, thrusting and colliding routinely.
Dragon-like, a white cloud cuts the sky in half.
I look up and see
The cloud tailing off into the distance,
Still the sky is halved.
In front of the Art Park of the Taipei Fine Arts Museum
A drum and gong band
Strides, heads held high, down the street.
Yet with its back to the Presidential Palace
Silent all year round.
