DIALOGUE
對話*

translated by David van der Peet 范德培

Obliterating the weekend’s starry skies, we hide
In the tranquility of the dark night, using words to explore
    our mutual lost dreams
And stories, traversing
A field of literary pandemonium, on our tongues
Songs

A Cat is searching in the mist, wondering if love
Leaping across a vast wilderness in pursuit of fleeting
    signs, will then
Lead her to find her own constellation

We are traveling inside language, voyaging across day and
    night
To the edge of the island, exiling sleep
Touching each other’s fate with nasals, and reading in
Each other’s invisible face
The impermanence that’s left once time has evaporated

The cat comes through my window on velvet paws, sending
    the shadows
On a drifting journey, roving across the ocean of imagination
Skimming between other people’s
Dreams, chasing the prophecy of a poem

From the cat’s eyes I bury your
Dark aura, and from
Behind the veiled laughter, transparent as
Tears, I compose
Showers of rain, one after the other, that travel far

As before, we continue to transcend each other, and heading
    for another
Galaxy, we have become
Two planets in opposition, lighting up
Each other’s existence
From afar
